StubHub Partners with Chicago’s ParkWhiz to Expand its Parking Offering
Today, StubHub, the largest fan-to-fan marketplace for concert and sports tickets, announced a partnership with ParkWhiz, the Chicago-based app that allows drivers to find and book parking spots.
The partnership allows StubHub to expand its parking offering to over 800 new venues, enabling the service to provide fans a complete end-to-end live experience; “purchase tickets and reserve a parking spot all from one place.”
Explained Geoff Lester, StubHub’s Head of Partnerships and Business Development, “At StubHub, we are constantly thinking about ways to make the event-going experience more seamless, fun and useful for our users.”
With ParkWhiz on board, StubHub has now grown its parking offering 600% year-over-year by the end of 2014. The move is a reflection of StubHub’s commitment to expanding its product offering beyond simply buying and selling tickets. This year, the company launched a dynamic concert discovery app, StubHub Music, and hired an editor-in-chief to create a more content rich user experience. They’ve also added a planning tool for activities surrounding live events, like finding restaurants for dinner.
On the other hand, ParkWhiz continues to find new ways to disrupt the $100B global parking industry. Founded in 2006, the startup raised $10M in June; the round was led by Chicago-based Jump Capital and featured several other local backers, including Hyde Park Venture Partners and Hyde Park Angels.
Added Lester, “We are thrilled to partner with ParkWhiz to significantly expand our parking offering and provide ParkWhiz’s best-in-class inventory and service to our customers.”
