HPA Portfolio Company Ocient Raises $100M Series C to Advance Trusted AI for Petabyte-Scale Data
HPA is excited to share that Ocient, an HPA portfolio company, has closed a $100M Series C co-led by BOKA Capital and OCA Ventures. Returning investors Greycroft, In-Q-Tel, Blue Bear Capital, Buoyant Ventures, PSP Growth, Pritzker Group Venture Capital, and Eron Wolf also took part, and Dallas Venture Capital joins as a new investor. The round brings Ocient’s total capital raised to $260M. HPA has supported Ocient since its Series B, and we’re excited to see the company reach this milestone.
Headquartered in Chicago, Ocient builds trusted agentic AI solutions for organizations whose data is measured in petabytes and growing all the time. Its OcientAIQ Unified Data Platform brings ingestion, governance, analytics, and agent skills into one engine. Analysts and AI agents can query complete, full-resolution datasets in real time instead of working from samples. Analysis runs inside the engine rather than through a language model, so every result can be reproduced and audited. Access, policy, and lineage controls apply to every agent action, and the approach needs less data movement and fewer tokens.
CEO John Morris noted that Ocient’s customers operate at a scale where “the speed, quality, and reliability of an answer can have significant consequences.” He added that the new capital, together with the expertise of the company’s investors, will help bring OcientAIQ to more customers as they scale their data and AI operations.
On top of the platform, OcientAIQ Solutions package industry-specific agent skills, semantics, and delivery patterns for high-stakes, high-volume use cases:
- Cybersecurity: network and security data becomes queryable as fast as it is generated. Teams can spot threats as they emerge and trace an indicator across their complete history.
- Compliance: communications service providers can retrieve every required record across the full mandated retention window, with complete lineage.
- Tailored data engines: enterprises, service providers, and government agencies can build their own AI-ready data engine that runs in their environment. Teams and agents can then launch one use case after another on the complete record.
The new capital will accelerate delivery of OcientAIQ Solutions as the company expects to more than triple revenue this year, driven by customers in industries that depend on large and constantly expanding datasets. Over the past year, Ocient has added national security partnerships with Accrete AI and Siren, and earned “Awardable” status on the Department of War’s Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace. It has also turned its India operations and Ocient National Security Solutions into dedicated subsidiaries. As part of the round, co-lead BOKA Capital, which brings deep defense and national security experience, joins Ocient’s board.
HPA congratulates John Morris and the entire Ocient team on this milestone and looks forward to supporting the company’s continued growth.
Special thanks to HPA Deal Lead Mike Franklin for his long-standing support of Ocient since HPA’s Series B investment, and to HPA Partner Stephen Ross, who will continue to support the Ocient team.
